Too many dogs were being thrown away because they didn't fit in "The mold". These same dogs were the ones being put down in shelters because they were considered to be too hyperactive or untrainable to the novice trainer or pet owner. We at K9's for Freedom & Independence, take these dogs and teach them to become life savers! It could be as a Critical Incident Response Team K9 (CIRT) or a Police Service K9. Either way, it is a win-win for all involved.

At K9's For Freedom & Independence, our mission is to provide education and resources to support mental health and wellness in our community.
Rescue to Rescuer, saves lives at Law Enforcement Agencies in the midst of record suicide rates.
These dogs help 1st Responders involved in critical incident heal. The recurring injuries they are involved with in their jobs causes actual brain damage. These dogs also help investigators get the information they need to solve the crime. These dogs can help, it is scientifically proven.
